Good to know
Booking a taxi in Besançon: practical information
Arriving at Besançon-Viotte
Besançon-Viotte station is on Avenue de la Paix. Use this full name if your train arrives there, followed by your destination in town. Besançon alone does not distinguish the area’s two main railway arrival points.
The TGV station is in Les Auxons
Besançon Franche-Comté TGV station is in Les Auxons, outside Besançon. Copy its name and municipality into your request. Do not choose Viotte as your departure point if your ticket is for the out-of-town TGV station.
Reaching the Citadelle
The Citadelle overlooks the old town. Specify the site and preferred access for your visit, then have the drop-off point confirmed. An old-town address does not automatically mean the entrance to the hilltop monument.
Several museums within the walls
The Citadelle includes the Musée comtois, Musée de la Résistance et de la Déportation and Muséum. Name your activity, but use an accessible roadside meeting for your return. Your visitor ticket does not book this transport.
