Taxi at Gare du Nord in Paris

Your choice changes the route through the station. Without a booking, the taxi courtyard is the landmark for the public queue. With a request prepared, check its confirmation and pickup instructions before choosing an exit. Do not simply look for a booked car among the queue.

Enter “Gare du Nord, Paris”, your train, expected arrival and exact destination. Choose a pickup time allowing you to leave the train and gather your belongings. Reaching the platform is not the same as reaching the vehicle.

SNCF locates the unreserved taxi area at exit number 7 in the taxi courtyard. Follow taxi signs inside the station and the instructions displayed that day. Availability depends on the cars and queue when you arrive.

This landmark is for finding a car on the spot. It guarantees neither immediate availability nor the waiting place of a booked driver. If your pickup is already confirmed, read its instructions before heading to the courtyard.

SNCF distinguishes booked taxis and lists their area on level -2 of the Effia car park, also listing taxi drop-off there. This explains why a reserved pickup may involve a different route from exit 7.

Use the precise meeting point supplied for your request. If the instructions do not identify the access clearly, contact the person named before going down or changing sides. Explain where you are and keep your phone available; do not assume every car waits in the same parking space.

For Eurostar or another arriving train, provide the number and scheduled arrival. Allow time to leave the platform, gather your group and walk out with luggage. Avoid setting pickup for the exact scheduled train arrival.

For a departing Eurostar, check the instructions for your route and ticket. Arrival requirements and checks can depend on the journey, so follow the operator’s guidance. Plan to reach the station before those steps, not simply before the train departs.

A connection to Paris Gare de Lyon includes walking in both stations, the road journey and any onward train formalities. Specify the Paris station, not Lyon city. A direct car journey can simplify luggage transport without guaranteeing a tight connection.

For Montparnasse or Saint-Lazare, give the exact station and next train. Include the walk to the platform. If the first train is late, check whether the revised plan still works before retaining the original timing.

For Charles-de-Gaulle or Orly, give the terminal and the time your airline requires you to arrive. From an airport, add your flight number, arrival terminal and time to collect luggage before meeting the car.

RER B serves Gare du Nord and is an option to consider for CDG. Check the direction, airport station appropriate to your terminal and service on your date. Compare the whole route, including terminal access and bags, not just the train portion.

Use a hotel’s full name and street address rather than its district alone. Make the hotel your destination if you want to drop your bags first. If several stops are needed, ask how to arrange them instead of assuming they are included.

For Disneyland, specify the parks or exact property. Our Disneyland Paris taxi guide distinguishes hotels, Chessy station and park access. A return to Gare du Nord then needs its own time and confirmation.

If your train is delayed, use the supplied contact or management options to send the revised arrival. Include the reference and confirm the new meeting and waiting conditions. Providing a train number does not mean automatic tracking or free waiting.

List all passengers, including children, large cases, bags and whether the pushchair folds. Request a child seat or booster with the child’s age. Describe equipment for any mobility need and wait for confirmation of capacity and the requested arrangements.

Compare identical addresses, times, passengers and bags. Check reservation, waiting and applicable fare conditions. Airport fixed fares have a defined scope and are not a price for every journey from Gare du Nord.

RER B and D also serve the station. Check an up-to-date route including changes and access. A suitable option for one lightly laden traveller may differ from the best practical choice for a family with several cases or a group heading directly to a hotel.

From a hotel or private address, give the entrance where you will wait and the train involved. Work back from the operator’s required arrival time, adding the road and walk inside the station. Do not use the train’s departure time as your drop-off time.

The return is separate from your arrival in Paris. Check its confirmation and update the address if you change accommodation. Drop-off and your original pickup may use different access points, so retain the instructions for each trip.
